This morning I awoke after a rough night of little sleep to a reply from Mary McManus (http://bit.ly/5dKE0c) to my Gratitude Challenge. What a wonderful reply it was. It inspired and grounded me in my day.
Here’s how it worked from the beginning. Mary heard me on the Darian and Darius Blogtalk radio show. Being the tremendous social networker that she is, she connected with me on Twitter and Facebook. She tweets me often, sends love and support, and I reply in kind.
The more I share my knowledge and participate in social media, the more relationships I develop with people like Mary. I’ve made friends, learned a great deal, developed business and have helped others by sending info to others about them. It just keeps growing and going. Social media done correctly is a perfect example of a win-win giving situation.

Below is the basic information that is discussed on the first episode of the “Unlimited Success and Fulfillment” radio show on October 16 at 1 PM EST. I will also be coaching people live on the show. Tune in tomorrow, or the 1st and 3rd Fridays of each month at http://www.divatoolbox.com/diva-toolbox-radio-/hosts/1904-deborah-hill-unlimited-success-and-fulfillment.html, just call in at (724) 444-7444, code 6400#. All episodes will be based upon this information.
Do you think of yourself as a unique powerhouse of dynamic energy, capable of creating a perfect life for yourself? You really are such a person. Creating a wonderful life for yourself is your birthright, and you wouldn’t be here if you weren’t right for the job. You have a wealth of abilities and talents that can catapult you into productive action. You’re an amazing, talented individual – able to build, create, expand, enjoy, triumph, fly. But you may not have the life you’d hoped for.
Walt Disney once said, “If you can dream it, you can do it.” If that’s true, why aren’t you the master of your universe, leaping tall obstacles in a single bound? How did this dynamic powerhouse that we call “you” get hung up in pursuit of your dreams? It could be that you are simply standing in your own way. YOU may be your biggest obstacle. How? Your beliefs may be blocking you from being and doing all you can.
Einstein revealed to us that everything is energy moving at different rates, including human bodies. Matter is merely energy moving slow enough to be detected by the five human senses: Seeing, hearing, tasting, feeling, and smelling. Our thoughts are energetic signals that pulsate through our brains, sending waves of energy through and around us. Our beliefs are repetitive, energetic thought patterns. Think of them as programmed vibrations within the brain. These belief “thought patterns” significantly influence our lives.
What we think and what we believe is reflected in the energy inside and surrounding us. Our thought and belief energy is projected from us like a radio tower projects radio waves. These energetic projections tell the universe and the people in it what’s happening in our world. All of the other radio towers around us pick up this signal that we are broadcasting, and they respond accordingly. Everything around us will respond in-kind to this thought and belief frequency. If we believe we’re a failure, we broadcast this to the world and the world responds in kind. Likewise, if we believe we are well respected and successful we project it and it’s mirrored back to us. Others tune in to our frequency and respond to it in much the same way they respond to what we physically say and do.
What we think and believe helps to steer us through life and is mirrored back at us. You can use your thoughts to make what you want in your life happen for you. Here are five steps that you take to do it:
1. Really want something
2. Define it clearly
3. Clear your resistance to having it
4. Ask for it.
5. Visualize having it
6. Have faith. Know it’s coming. Don’t nag.
The above steps work, but limiting thoughts and beliefs may not support your wants and needs.
Your thinking and your beliefs create a vibration that may not support your wants and needs. In order to create what you want, your beliefs must support your needs, dreams and desires. What do you believe? It’s important to pay attention to this if you want to create your perfect life.
There are several indications that you can help you pinpoint when this is happening. The first and foremost indicator is that you aren’t getting what you want after going though the above steps. Here are some more limiting belief indicators (Go to www.theawarenessinitiative.com home page for a free download that elaborates on these and how to change limiting beliefs).
1. Repetitive Patterns
2. Negative Emotions
3. Unproductive thoughts
4. Continual comments from others
We each have our own unique hang-ups or beliefs that we can change. We also share a number of common limiting beliefs. Limiting beliefs may be keeping you from creating the life you desire. You can change them. Armed with this new awareness and technique, you’ll soon be able to replace your limiting beliefs with your own powerful truths.

What is fear? Some would say that it’s the absence of love and faith, and they’d be right. Still, knowing does not always give us the ammo we need to deal with fear. Here are some steps to try when you feel fear:
1. Note it. Define what it’s pointing to and objectively face it.
2. Breathe and comfort yourself. Show yourself compassion. Smile.
3. Determine if there is a reality behind the fear.
4. Breathe
5. Meditate and find your center.
6. Visualize what you want to happen – how your situation will change. See yourself in this place.
7. Breathe
8. Enact your plan and/or live your dream.
These are scary times, but as you know, you are ineffective and very uncomfortable if you live in fear. The key is to face it, learn from it and move beyond it. Fear is a pointer that you have something to do. Either something needs fixing, or it’s time for you to get going and grow. As Edgar Watson Howell said, “A good scare is worth more . . . than good advice.” Happy Halloween.

Yesterday was Yom Kippur – a day when Jews around the world atone for their sins and seek to deeply connect with God. One of the passages in my prayer book is very meaningful to me. It speaks about the journey of life and how we move through it learning our lessons and growing. I think its wisdom is a direct hit, revealing what life is about. I’d like to share it with you:
Birth is a beginning
And death a destination.
And life is a journey:
From childhood to maturity
And youth to age;
From innocence to awareness
And ignorance to knowing;
From foolishness to discretion
And then, perhaps, to wisdom;
From weakness to strength
Or strength to weakness –
And, often, back again;
From health to sickness
And back, we pray, to health again;
From offense to forgiveness,
From loneliness to love,
From joy to gratitude,
From pain to compassion,
And grief to understanding –
From fear to faith;
From defeat to defeat to defeat –
Until, looking backward or ahead,
We see that victory lies
Not at some high place along the way,
But in having made the journey, stage by stage,
A sacred pilgrimage.
Birth is a beginning
And death a destination.
And life is a journey,
A sacred pilgrimage –
To life everlasting.
This is a time of great change on many levels. People are realizing that the old systems don’t work, and the present values are shallow. I’m coaching more and more people who are in transition, looking to find where their hearts lie and what they truly value. I feel that what we’re experiencing is a period time that potentiates a huge spiritual shift on this “sacred pilgrimage.” I’m praying for it. I’m looking for a time when people connect with their essential self and with that of others.
May journey year be joyful this year.

Your beliefs seriously influence how much time you take to complete a task or project. They can take much less time than you think. Here’s a suggestion for how you can accomplish more in less time than you originally think is possible.
1. Notice when you first begin to think, “This project or task is going to take more time than I have.” It shouldn’t be difficult to notice this because you’ll probably be fretting and stressed about it.
2. Step back from your emotions and breathe. Disconnect from the thoughts.
3. Objectively calculate how much time you believe you have to accomplish the task.
4. Next, focus on your solar plexus, between your heart and naval, and imagine that the energy in that area is increasing in a comfortable way. While opening that area, tell yourself, “I don’t have six hours to do this. It will be done in three hours. I know it can be done because I only have three hours and I can accomplish anything that’s put in my path. I have complete faith in myself that I can accomplish this. I won’t worry about it because worrying takes time. I will stay focused and believe it will happen and it will.”
5. Repeat this exercise whenever the worry surfaces.
Focus on your task with this belief in tow, and you’ll see your work magically completed correctly and on time.

Often our goals and assignments, tasks and obligations become all important. We push and push to fit everything into an imagined box and it never seems to quite fit. The stress builds because our schedule is our all-important road map to success. We are defined by it and we ignore everything else in our path as an obstruction.
The internet goes out and we’re unable to send an email. Our phone drops a call. Our child is ill and we have to miss work. A tire blows out and we spend an hour having it repaired. A friend calls and we don’t have time to talk. Someone cuts us off in traffic or we’re held up at a traffic light and we’re afraid we’ll miss an appointment. WHY IS EVERYTHING GETTING IN OUR WAY?
Consider that life is not a roadmap in one direction. The perceived disruptions to our big plan are not annoying obstacles to, they are a part of life. The objective is not to “get there,” it’s to experience all we can and smile through it. The goal to success includes breakdowns, breakups, bad weather, laughing, meeting people at the tire store, noticing people who cut us off in traffic without swearing, spending time with our children when they are ill …
Who said it was going to be an easy, straight shot to an objective? It’s a misconception. The truth is, life is one continual amusement park or insane assylum. The difference is in how we handle it. The choice is yours.
Smile. Breathe. Relax. Enjoy.

I am in the process of creating meditations for everyday situations. The following is one I recently created when returning from a vacation. I felt so relaxed and peaceful. I knew that in the past I shifted back into my rushed and sometimes stressful life quickly, losing the lovely vacation energy. My goal with this meditation is to be able to stay in the vacation mode while being at work and handling issues at home. Note: This meditation will only be effective if you understand that stress is not an essential ingredient of success. Also, let me know if you’d like me to create a meditation for you, to help you deal with situations in your life, or attain specific goals.
Sit quietly and rest your mind, or focus on something other than your present situation. Breathe deeply, in and out. Focus on your inhalation, the breath filling you with life. Pause and then watch as you exhale and release all unneeded energy. Breathe in and out several times, relaxing and surrendering to your highest source.
Relax and breathe in the feeling of bliss from your vacation. If you were on the beach feel the soft, warm breeze and smell the ocean air. If you enjoyed the thrill of skiing in the mountains, feel the crisp air mixed with sun on your face. Breathe in the clear crisp air.
Allow yourself to feel the sensations of the trip. Notice how your heart feels. Are your muscles relaxed? Visualize the scenery and imagine yourself in it, as if in a movie. Now notice your heart space. Imagine there’s a balloon of energy in the area around your heart. Breathe in and fill this balloon with the tranquility and relaxation that you felt on the vacation. You had no worries. No task that had to be done. No one you had to call. You lived in the moment and the world was simpler. Breathe in this energy and relax.
Now let the energy of peace and tranquility, fun and relaxation present in your heart balloon radiate through your chest, your abdomen and neck. Feel this peaceful energy radiating through your arms, legs and head. Feel the peaceful cheer in your feet and hands.
The peaceful cheer of your vacation now radiates beyond your feet and fills the space around you – the room, the building you’re in or if you’re outside, the area you’re in. The energy then moves on as you experience that wherever you are is a vacation if you allow it – the appointments will happen when they need to, calls will be made, business will be transacted and tasks competed in time, in peace and cheerfulness. Your heart radiates like a glowing Sun, filling your life with the tranquility you felt on vacation.
Now focus again on your breath. Feel the peace and tranquility within you. What do you want to do now that you relaxed and cheerful? Open your eyes and begin anew.
Return to this place whenever you feel the need to release your tension. Reawaken the knowingness that all is well and life is your vacation.

Sometimes in the intensity of powerful creation and focus on the goal at hand we forget to notice everything else that’s happening around us. I’m calling this “everything else” the softer side of life – the hum of life moving beautifully as we forge our way forward.
I was flying to Las Vegas to be filmed on the Momentum stage at the Venetian. The video is a new rendition of my speaking and training capabilities that will be displayed on my website soon. I practiced and polished my speech for a week. I meditated on being effective and creating a powerful presentation. I fretted about scheduling and timing. My entire focus for a week was: PRESENTATION. I’ve thought about the fact that I’d be in Las Vegas for two days staying in a suite at the Venetian. But I did not live in that reality.
While on the plane meditating I intuitively heard, “Enjoy yourself, Deborah. Look around you. Everything else is happening as you focus only on your intent. Life surrounds you, and it’s a beautiful one at the moment. You’re headed for paradise to be with wonderful people and have new experiences. You may do well on your speech, and you may not. Everything happening around you influences where you are headed, not just the individual activities you’re attuned to. Pay attention to where you are and how lovely your life is. Pay attention to all that’s happening around you and enjoy it. Your attunement to this is the manna that will make your presentation sing. Feel the fullness of the experience. Life is living and breathing around you. Tap into this and enjoy. That joy will radiate out and you’ll connect with your audience, no matter what you say.”
Good advice, and it worked fabulously. Suddenly I was relaxed and excited – enthusiastic and smiling. The planed arrived 35 minutes early (!) and I got a cab immediately, giving me more time to check-in, dress and practice a little more. The video experience with Blue Marble Media was incredibly fun, professional and exciting. I met wonderful people, had fun at Manhattan Momentum, and am now writing from my luxury suite after eating the delicious breakfast brought to my room.
I reiterate to you and to myself. Anything is possible and remarkable if done one step at a time. We can do anything we dream and have fun doing it. Life is supporting us – holding us softly in its embrace.

I have clients who admit that they’re perhaps workaholics and blame their job, their bosses, their life situations. They actually complain because they work so hard as if it’s unpleasant. ‘Workaholic’ does not mean you work too hard because you hate it. It means you love your work so much that you can’t stop doing it.
Think about it. Have you ever heard a beer drinking alcoholic say, “I hate beer”? Or, a sugar addict say, “I hate chocolate cake but I can’t help eating it?” No, “aholics” are addicted to doing what it is they are attached to. Workaholics are attached to working long hours each day, weekends, vacations … they can’t stop. If you work continuously and long hours and aren’t sure if you’re a workaholic ask your friends and family. If one person says “yes” believe that person. The others are being kind or evasive.
Addictions can’t be brought to a halt. They must be replaced. Leaving work early to “relax” probably won’t do it for you. You’ll go home, watch TV, pace the floor, text message … until you’re bored enough to start working again. Work has to be replaced with something else that adds joy to your life.
Many workaholics have forgotten what it is they enjoy. If this is the case make plans with friends. You may not be doing what you love, but you’ll be distracted long enough to get a breath in and feel what it’s like to not work.
Here are some other steps for finding fun things to do:
1. Think back – way back – to when you weren’t working. What did you do then? Was photography your hobby? Did you enjoy reading novels, cuddled up with a cup of tea? Remember when reading was a good thing – even if you weren’t reading a self or business help book?
2. Experiment with things you’ve thought about trying, or been meaning to do. Take the Spanish class. Learn how to play tennis. Dance. You’ll probably have to schedule these things in so that you don’t work through them. Mark them as sacred appointments to your yearning to be non-addicted self.
3. Write down the things you plan on doing when you retire. Do them now.
4. Exercise. Just do it. You’ll love it soon. I promise.
5. Meditate to become aware of who you are when you’re not working. Love that person. Release any guilt you feel for having fun and enjoying your life.
A healthy life is one that’s balanced. It’s wonderful that you love what you do. And you do if you’re a workaholic. Now find out what else you love and do that as well. You’ll find you enjoy your work and your life even more.

She tried desperately to rise above the confines of her proverbial ceiling – to break through to the next level. She banged against it, cajoled it, tried to set it on fire. She then pretended it didn’t exist, only to find she kept hitting her head on it. Finally, in despair and resignation she sank to the ground.
Despair was suffocating. She gasped, short of breath, and rising quickly ran to the door to get some fresh air. One step outside the door she was awestruck by the wide open, unlimited, expansively beautiful sky. Freedom was one step away. The room was an illusion; the possibilities infinite.
What is your room? Is there a ceiling? Where’s the door? What’s binding you? Unnecessary obligations? Self-inflicted emotional wounds? Negative thinking? What chains do you support through limiting beliefs? How badly do you want to fly free?
There is no past. It’s time to open new doors and new wings. The journey is never-ending – the possibilities infinite.
If you’d like to open new doors and fly, download a free copy of my limiting beliefs worksheet at www.TheAwarenessInitiative.com
